Oregon Wine Country? I'm just getting to know the area. Some of the backroads around the Willamette Valley make for very nice drives.

QUESTION: Should we invite all early watercooled Porsche"s to this gathering?.....924/944/928.

It might be time to think outside the box!!

Your thoughts?

Kaj,

I mentioned last year that we might consider a road trip kind of a gathering, where we meet at one place for the night, then drive to another destination for the next night, and do that for a few days. This would allow us to meet up with members for a day or two somewhere along the way, and still enjoy some good roads, some nice scenery, and maybe (depending on the route) some special wines. Maybe start north of SF and head into Oregon then back down through Susanville to Tahoe. If the numbers were large enough we could document the trip and maybe put the story in one of the many car magazines out there.

Just a thought.

Couple of ways to include other models.

1) All 944/928/968 models from 1992-95

2} All 924/944/928/968 from 1976-1995

No PCA membership required. And no 911's

Thoughts?

Does this exclude people from the east coast who rent cars?

From what I heard , Don would have had a coronary even if you drove your car faster than 15 miles an hour, or were not following the order in which the cars’ colors were arranged for the parade . Of course Flash would have had a coronary if at our gatherings he organized ( which I must admit were nothing sort of remarkable ..he had a knack for that ) we would have parked our cars at a 1mm spacing difference vs. all the others, for the photo shoot . Or 1 degeee off the precise angle .

Good times, but as I mentioned a while ago, as much as I enjoyed all those meetings, this has run its course ( no pun ) for me, so no plans to continue . Recently, the local Maserati forum folks organized a similar get together amd asked me how come I’m not interested in joining ; I told them I’m just a cantankerous old man who is anti-social so no group activities for me ! Besides, I’m also getting lazy. Oddly enough two others responded in kind so we do have something in common, more than just owning the same cars , lol.

I have to say I really enjoy doing shows and 968 meets

Not so much for the cars but the folks that come and ask stupid questions are just so entertaining

Stop being Oscar the grouch and have a bit of fun
