yes - thanks - it was a pretty big bummer for me too - there was no problem with the tiny unit, but as soon as we did the math, and had to bump up to the bigger unit, that was it - without dramatically complicating the process and increasing the cost, it just didn't work
this was also depressing because i was able to confirm the temperature numbers, and knew that if i could fit it in there, the idea would have worked
it was especially depressing to watch an S2000 roll out the door with a unit on it, just having come off the dyno with 375 at the wheels! that system is CARB pending too - and to think that if i could have fit 2 sets of golf clubs and 2 cases of wine in the car without using the passenger seat, i would have bought one of those........
oh well
at this point, any suoercharger project of any type would be a lot more expensive, more complicated, and require a compromise of a system elsewhere in the car
before anyone asks, i have no interest in a turbo project, as the plumbing precludes the chassis bracing i want in the car, and it would never get past smog, and the cost and complications are just too much for a daily driver - besides, there are already enough turbo cars out there that either don't run, still need "a little more tuning", or aren't being driven for one reason or another
i have no interest in a V8 project either - been there done that - too much character change
i can get close to the target figures normally aspirated anyway - not that far off now - so i'll just have to find more ways to remove more weight if i want that magic 10:1 number
