Sun roof removal
#1

Help, how do you remove the roof panel, I have to manually crank it up (switch problem?) from that point how does it come off. I don't have a manual, I am having it painted and I want to remove the roof gasket.....

thanks frank... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

If you mean how do you remove the roof... turn the key to the 1st position and push the open button on the sunroof. You will hear a noise as the gears pull out of the roof. Unclip the front two clips, push up on the back of the roof (it should not be attached at this point) and then lift and slide the roof out of the groove in the front that the wind deflector slides into.

To put it back, slide it in, clip the clips, turn the key to position 1 and push the down button, The gears will engage. Turn the key to the 2 position and push the open button to ensure that the gears are in place. If not, at speed,..... bad news.
