Removal of side mirrors
#1

I know search is my friend but I didn't find much on this. You would think it would be easier to remove the side mirrors but it seems there is more to it than I expected. Inner door panel is off but I don't see much in the door. No screws revealed when I turn the mirror on it's base. Do I need to remove the glass to get to the connection?

It's been a while but here ya go.Turn the mirror base towards the door and you should see on top an allen screw beneath a rubber plug(remove). Loosen or remove the screw and the mirror is loose. pull away from the door and unplug the connector from the outside. NO NEED TO MESS WITH THE GLASS!!! I can double check this weekend if needed.

I will give that a go, since I need to replace the rubber gasket between the mirror base and the door. The driver side mirror is also a bit loose, so hopefully the base can be tightened up without having to go in behind the inside door panel...

Should'nt have to. The only screw is on the outside of the door. Mine had a rubber plug covering it so it was almost un-noticed.

I feel stupid. I saw that little plug but years of dirt made mine look like it was corroded metal. After poking at it I now see it is rubber and it popped right off to reveal the allen bolt. Thanks!
