He's at it again - Announcing Stage 3 SC Tuning Kit
#61

Sooo, follow the Stage 1 instructions, then Stage 2/3, or skip the Stage 1 instructions entirely?

lol - stage 1 - then stage 2, which will at one point direct you to stage 3 if you are doing that, which will then redirect you back to stage 2 for completion

if you would stop to read the instructions, this will all become obvious

lol - huh? i'm confused. anybody who took one look at the instructions for either stage 2 or 3 would see that you cannot ignore stage 1. stage 2 and 3 are tuning upgrade kits only. they have nothing about installing the supercharger.

again, once you read the instructions, which i highly recommend, all will become clear

Installed stage 3 , easy job .

Hopefully tommorow i can go for a test drive , to much rain today , tommorow will be dry .

Thirst thing i noticed was the different sound from the new injectors , and i seems to idle a lttle smoother but could be my imagination .

It drives great better stronger , and smoother idle .

One question flash , what sort of rise is acceptable , think i have been looking at the gauge to much .

Idle and steady driving , 53 psi , when i hit the accelerator a light dip and there after a rise , it wil rise towards the 60 psi on the full throtlle hill clim in second gear .

But i have seen higher pressure over 60 psi accelerating in higher gears .

All normal ?

System holds pressure nicely it wil take way more than an hour to bleed off all pressure .

regarding fuel pressure, that's normal. even the stock regulator does that, which is why in the workshop manual they show the spec with and without the vacuum connected.

as a rule of thumb, you will see 3-4psi rise, plus roughly 1psi for each pound of boost. so, you might see 62 or so at full boost.

all normal. that's also why the 53 spec though. the pump cannot sustain pressures beyond that for very long. it's fine there, and designed to run there, but not past that.

Not exactly on topic, but close enough.

I have unfortunately had to have my SC off numerous times for various problems. Each time I've lost a little of the SC oil. Kind of unavoidable. Now I am at the minimum mark on the dipstick in the oil reservoir, and I have no more oil. Do I have to buy a whole bottle of the stuff for a couple of ounces? Anybody ordered a bottle from some website and figured out who's got it cheapest? Should I even worry as long as it's at the minimum mark?

By the way what I see on my fuel pressure gauge is exactly what described by vliegwielolaf1234 in post 70 above. I haven't had the car above 5,000rpm yet or pushed the throttle much more than half way down, but the response and pressures I saw were the same.

i think there is an outfit in canada that sells what is essentially half bottles, though the cost per volume goes up.

as a note, the oil level needs to be read while fully warmed up and engine running.

Confirm that. I have had to buy the refill kit twice due to leakage and subsequent replacement of the SC oil cooler. The bad part isthat the kit gives you a new filter everytime so I have 2 spares now. If anyone wants the contact info I can get it; the place is in Edmonton and it's a snowmobile shop.

If anyone needs a new magnetic filter for the system I have a few "in stock"

Went and got the info - Darren at E&S in Fort Saskatchewan AB, 780-997-3818

My cost was 99.00 plus shipping.

yikes - that's pricey if you don't need the filter (change interval is 50k miles)
