P9021 spec for alternator/AC belt tension?
#1

I know, this is being ridiculously anal, but a fellow forum member has graciously loaned me his P9201 tool to use to tension my balance shaft belt, but I figured that as long as I have it, I might as well use it for the alternator/AC belt as well, but I haven't been able to find the spec in the workshop manual. Anybody know what it is? Thanks.

4.9/5.2 (mm) 9.5

5.3/5.6 (mm) 9.5 ad 1 turn

Thanks - where did you find that? Was it in the manual?

It is in mine 03-18a if i remember correct .

I always adjust this one with the car running ac fan's light's etc on (have a lift s makes it easy ) youcan actually hear if te belt is to loose .

But with the tool you should have no problem getting it done .

Get a good feel from the belts when you are done , so you can adjust/replace them next time you change them and don't have the tool .

when do you think you'll have the car on the road again ?

Check with me for way to tell if you adjusted properly-gauge or not

OK, I'll give you a call on Monday. FYI, my belt is right at 4.4 mm thick, so I set it to 8.5 on the gauge.

As far as when I'll have it running again, it's very hard for me to predict. I'm making slow but steady progress, so I hope in a few weeks.
