RESTORE oil additive for compression increase
#1

Has anyone used or heard good or bad things about RESTORE?

http://www.restoreusa.com/

My 968 has over 150K and I wonder if I should be using this stuff or will it do any harm.

Comments welcome.

used it twice on my work horse, 97 Landcruiser with 194K. The truck is still 90% original including all the hoses.

Sorry but I cant report any noticable results.

Every reputable mechanic I've ever asked about additives like this have advised to stay away; They don't do any good, and often can do damage.

i have never been a fan or believer in any of these "wonder-goos"

there have been a couple of glaring exceptions:

Leather CPR has been amazing, and i think, i have tried almost every cream, oil, etc on leather

the other is the Run-Rite induction cleaning system - this has been the most amazing product i have seen in 30 years - it has improved performance and running condition on every single car i have tried it on or seen it used on

I used this on my old VW Quantum Syncro. Though it did nothing noticeable for power restore or anything like that, but it did help the engine run a lot smoother and quieter. The valve lifter noise and vacuum pump ticking went away with the use of Restore. Which tells me that the oil pump was a little weak. But in all it did not hurt the car that I could tell.

Hope this helps.
