Repaint prep for plastic body panels
#1

I had an off road incident that resulted in deep scratches in the plastic body panels on either side of the trunk lid (rear fender "caps") on my white 968 cab. Are these plastic or fiberglass? Have you had any experience with refinishing these or must they be replaced?

The rear bumper has a ~ 1 inch diameter divot where the paint is gone and a rough-ish grey surface remains. Is this repairable as well?

And last, if replacement of these parts (including bumper) is needed, are these parts even available any more?

Many thanks!

The parts are plastic, not fiberglass.

Any good body shop should be able to make the repairs.

Good luck,

Jay
