Plastic Nut Part Number?
#1

I took off the rear engine shield and set it aside. Then, I stupidly bumped it and only found one of the funky plastic nuts that hold it on!

The PET has no depiction of this nut... Other than calling Sunset and praying it's a common part, does anyone have a suggestion as to how to identify and procure a replacement?

If it's the nut I'm thinking of (these things are used all over the car, including to secure the plastic fender liners), they're available from Sunset, because I just ordered and received a half dozen. The package is at home, so I can check the part number when I get home tonight; I couldn't find the part number in the PET, either, but Sunset was able to figure out which ones they are.

Thanks! I'll also look under the fender for one. That one, I think, is in the PET?

I couldn't find that one in the version of the PET that I have, either, but Sunset (I spoke to Andrea) knew exactly what I was talking about. They're just pennies apiece.

Got it! I think. If it's the same nut that is used for the wheel liners, it's a superseded part, #14 in the PET diagram 801-25.

Thank you Cloud! $.15 each, plus $8.95 shipping! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

$.12 from Sunset with my "Out of State Discount", and they'll stick it in a regular envelope for me.

Oh the things we do to keep things original.

Yep, that's the same part number I ordered. And we paid exactly the same $0.12 each for them, and shipping was only $2.50 in a padded envelope. Sunset is great!

Ain't Sunset great? Here's the part in a little envelope - and it didn't cost $9-13 to ship. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />
