Hi all,



The red emergency switch is broke or should I say the dash piece that holds the switch is broke. So when you push the switch to activate the emergency flashers(or vice versa), the switch just is pushed inside the front dash. I have ordered 2 different plastic dash pieces at different times fromdifferent vendors but they are always not the black shade of the original dash so I return them to the vendor. I mean it, the black shade, is usually way off and looks like a placement. They say the shade of black will always be off and they won't ever be able to match the original dash piece.



I was hoping someone might have an idea how I could get the switch to remain stable in the dash when pushed? thanks for the help.

i have had the same problem with the dash replacement pieces i have gotten from porsche. night and day difference in color. i also sent them back.



you can either replace the piece with a used one (contact daryl) or you can glue the switch in. the latter will have to be done from the back.



a third option would be to relocate the switch, and glue a blank in that spot.

I had the same problem: the car came home with the switch pushed in after my teenage son and his buddy borrowed the car.



I glued it in -- that is "tack glued" on only a 2-3 small spots. I figure I'll never have to replace that switch since it is essentially never used, and I can grind the glue spots with a Dremel-like tool if I have to remove it again. Used the good-old-trusty JB weld which has become a staple item in the garage.



The panel also had a small crack by the switch, which I also glued. If you do this very carefully you can't see the crack anymore. I just looked and can't spot the crack; glue it from the back. JB Weld is essentially the identical color as the panel.



Of course all of this was done on the workbench with the panel removed.

Plastic paint to match the shade on such a small part may also be an option.
