So I have a question for everyone here. There was a noticble wind noise coming from somewhere in my '94 Coupe, even though the sunroof was closed and the windows were closed. Then, just a couple of days ago, I noticed that little tidbits of water had dropped onto the back seats of the car. That only meant one thing: the rear window. Now, it isn't the window per say with a hole, to me it seems like some sort of seam or connection at the very top of the rear windshield. My question is: Do you know how I can fix this issue?

I'll see if I can post a picture, though it may not really help since there isn't a noticeable trace of where the leak might be. It just seemed correct that it would be the top section of the rear window area due to where the droplets fell in the car.

I'd hose it down and look for the leak in order to know where to start. Are you sure it is not the rear side window(s)? I had one that leaked. Also check the area where the hinges attach to the body.

Assuming that it is the hatch that leaks (between the frame and the glass that is) it is possible to reseal it with the hatch on the car. Remove the trimmings first, the sides and rear are screwed in place and the front is clamped (push it forward gently, prying each lip forward from the underside a mm at a time as you don't wanna bend it). Now you remove whatever sealant you can get off of there, clean and reseal.

I had a leak last year providing me with water in the back seat as well but it wasn't the rear window seal. I found the rear drain of the sunroof was blocked allowing the roof channel to fill up and dribble into the back of the car. I snaked it out with a fine fibreglass rod to fix it.

+1 on Dave's sunroof drain holes and also +1 on firefish's idea of starting by determining where the leak actually is. If your back seats are wet, my guess is that the water is coming from behind the trim piece that covers the sunroof lifting arms and such. That could be a plugged drain tube or sunroof seal. If the rear hatch is leaking, then the carpet in the rear cargo area would be wet. If a drain tube is detached, water runs down inside the body of the car and makes the side carpets wet around the wheel well areas and then puddles in the backseat foot wells. Water will always take the path of least resistance and gravity can aid in that journey, so just 'cause it's wet one place doesn't mean that's where the water in coming from. No matter what you find, good luck. It's a tedious process at best.

I also had a bad leak in the area behind the drivers seat and determined it to be the sunroof drain hole become detached. I couldn't get to it, so I caulked up the drain hole and doubled up on the sunroof seal and walla!



Now, no more lake porsche in my back seat.

Not sure if I am in the right forum but I got a shock today when I opened the hatch and there was water on the right side of the hatch carpet when I took it out there was water there also. I investigated best I could and it seems the water is comming in from the hatch latches. I took one apart and the drain hose is working but when I poured a cup of water in the gasket hatch thing the water ran out all over the back light wires and down into the wheel well. I think that is the source of my prblem but I have to buy part#94451236402 gasket ,#95151244700 re-inforcement plate, #94451246502 additional gasket, BUT here is the problem part # 94451246602 is no longer available it is the passenger side of the hatch. I have a new seal to install also. I did take out the drain hoses but they are all clear so it is not them backing up. Any help?

Flash, I know u know alot about early 968,s I cannot find the right latch gasket for the hatch part # 94451246602, I can get the left but no one has the right one??? I have tried Sunset and other dealers and no one can find one, can u think of any reason why the right one would be so different and hard to get?
