I've researched this topic, and I can't find any data regarding proper part/assembly installation anywhere.
When I purchased my car, I found both wiper-arms thrown into the backseat, and evidence that the Wiper motor mechanism was once removed from the car - a grounding wire was un-attached to anything, and A-L-L of the mounting hardware had disappeared. No nuts, no grommets, nothing.
Looking at the 968 Parts manual, I noted an upper and lower rubber grommet assembly, a large washer, a large jam-nut, followed by a grommet of some kind, followed by the wiper arm, and then a small wave-washer followed by a smaller nut and then a plastic cap.
Somewhere in this list, the plastic airbox-cover shroud is laid over the firewall, wiper-arm mounting posts poking through the aligned holes, and the cover is hard-mounted to the firewall under the windshield with double-sided 3M mounting tape.
I've collected the parts-list, and procured everything from my local Porsche dealership that was currently available from the 'global' Factory parts inventory. The jam-nuts are NLA - I found a used set via eBay, as your standard jam-nut via other online vendors isn't "thin" enough for this application - more on that later.
This assembly of parts WILL NOT FIT.....either I have the combinations of installation incorrect, or the parts have 'changed' over time, or something. I'm at a loss as to how to proceed. The rubber grommets (upper-and-lower) would logically assemble as a moisture barrier around the wiper-motor posts as it passes through the metal firewall flange, and are sandwiched into a water-tight seal by the large washer and the larger jam-nut. But with the airbox-cover shroud, it is impossible to press the assembly DOWN enough to engage any threads on the wiper-arm posts. Omitting the top grommet allows the engagement of the larger wiper-arm post threads, but doesn't allow for enough threads to pass-through the upper-plastic grommet to attach the wiper arm itself to the top post (unless I'm not cranking-down on the jam-nut with enough torque to raise the assembly through the firewall - how much is too much?).
No wipers - no State Inspection sticker - no 'drive car'. SO - I have to solve this problem somehow, but I don't want rain-water leaking into areas it shouldn't, or rusting/corroding areas around the airbox/fusebox/firewall area. Porsche intended this combination of parts to 'work' somehow, but everyone appears focused on the REAR wiper-arm assembly to post anything useful on how the FRONT wiper-arm parts assembly is installed. Any photos or guidance GREATLY appreciated here!

. Just jesting M, I note you have plastic down, which I never did, and bless my mum for being so long suffering! (and I still tend to wipe my hands on my shirt
