Door seals
#1

I need to replace the door seals, both the door and the inner seal. Are the 944 door seals the same ones used by the 968 coupe?

I don't believe so. On Paragon they are different items, different prices.

Probably about $250-300 shipped.

It's a 944.x.x.x part number in the PET though. Best to call Pelican or Sunset or AutoAtlanta directly and ask them, perhaps. They're the ones you'll be returning it to if you're wrong

944.537.091.00/092.00 are the 944 Coupe seals

944.537.091.03/092.03 are the 968 Coupe seals

Got a email about this today. They say they are not the same part numbers and they don't know if 944 seals will work.

Anyone want to take one for the team and try to fit a 944 seal on a 968 door?

I may buy one and try it in a couple weeks. The price difference is huge. I will post the results.

If we are talking about the seal that is actually on the door then yes they are different. It was one of the things I noticed when changing from my 951 to a 968. The seal on the 968 better fills the gap between the a-pillar/roof/rear quarter glas because it has a more pronounced edge.

Thanks Jaap! So the 968 seal is a better fit in a 944 door and it does fit. So either seal fits correctly in either door.

I have a 944 and a 968. I will have to check the doors and see if there are any differences in the door's sheet metal flanges. The rubber is definitely different on them.

Supposedly the doors have the same part # so why not the seals?

On the same subject what type of glue do they use for the seals on doors and the inside seal?

The door flanges seem to be the same. Door seal photos below 968 and 944 door seals.
