Rear Hatch Seal
#1

So, I was washing my 968 the other day and noticed that there was water on the inside of the rear hatch glass. Upon further investigation I found that some of the seal where the glass sits in the hatch frame was failing and allowing water to seep in. It was actually flaking off a little bit. Any thoughts on an easy fix for this or should I take it to a windshield guy?

The flaking stuff probably isn't the problem - the rubber seal would be the culprit. Be sure the hatch is suitably tight. Also check the cubbies around the wheel wells - if the drains for the sunroof leak into this area (the pass through and should drain out at the bottom) there could be water on the inside of the hatch that is little more than condensation from water ponded elsewhere.
