rear hatch lock
#1

Help, I can not seem to find any how to info on the bottom part of the hatch lock thing. It is located on the top of the buttom part of rear not the glass part the pins from the glass part fit into it on the buttom. I want to replace it but cannot figure out how it is installed and how to remove it. Thanks for any help

thanks so much this gave me some help on what I may need to check. I wish they had shown some pictures though. But I know mine isn't the only problem one.

As far as I remember it's just 2 nuts underneath and the release linkage. Had mine off a few times years ago to clean and grease.

Yes that is just what I want to do, but I also want to replace the cone shaped plastic things the long part fits into. I love concour and the judges always mention the grease should be white and I know they look at the discolored cones. I am worried I will mess up the electric part that makes it work when I use the button in the front to release the hatch.

A little Brake Clean shot down the hole and the use Crest White Strips on the cone, works for teeth <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /><img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

If you remove the latches then you have to realign them with the hatch dogs so they open properly again, bit of a pain crawling in there to do that.

realigning the hatch is what I am concerned with. If I can get it looking all pretty for the judges BUT the hatch no longer closes right or works right then I am screwed when it comes to use <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

That's why I don't enter Concours events. I don't need someone telling me I have the wrong colored grease in my hole. [Image: rolleyes.gif]

LOL,LOL you are so right Concours is a totally nuts sport, but I love it. I know the grease being white really is a pain. Once I get my hatch latches clean and new I bet the white grease is black in no time <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
