Oil leak by the oil cooler
#1

Have my front bumper cover off for a repaint and noticed that my oil cooler appears to have a slow leak on the side where the lines are attached. Are there any seals there that can be replaced or does it mean that the oil cooler is leaking and needs to be replaced. Anybody have experience with this?

There are O-ring type seals on both ends of the hoses. I would replace those before deciding to replace the cooler. Or, perhaps it could be the hoses leaking at the fittings. This will be hard to tell when the area is all gunked up with dirt and oil. I would suggest that you clean the area up and degrease the hoses ande all fittings as well as the cooler. Then drive the car for a week and then reinspect.

The O-rings are cheap. The hoses are a set and very expensive. If it turns out to be the hoses, contact Phil at RS Barns......he has a new set of hoses that he will discount to you.

I would not suspect that the cooler has failed......probably one of the other items mentioned above.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did just look at the parts diagram an noticed the 0-rings. I was going to try those first and hope that fixes it.
