Doesn't look good for me I'm getting ready to put in my 2 weeks and go for a career change. Things could be rough for a little while. If things work out I'll have a lot more freedom in 6 to 8 months, plus have more $ to spend on the car.

And what's your excuse for not driving down ? The garage is finished, you really have nothing better to do next Saturday, Bob drove all the way up there to see you ( and that's up hill most of the way ! ) so the least you can do is return the gesture and coast downhill from the rockies right into Paso Robles... it's ONLY a

17 to 18 hr drive.. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

ok, I got in touch with a few 968 brethren and some had reasonable excuses for not making this meet. you know who you are.

as for the rest of you, both north and south who just don't feel like getting up early, or the dog needs feeding, or the cat needs to be washed Saturday, blah, blah, blah... I have one thing to say :

well, as luck would have it, in the middle of installing my new suspension bushings, i got distracted and managed to rip loose one of my stainless braided brake lines in the rear - i'm hosed (pun intended)

no way to get one here, get it installed and bled, and then get the alignment done in time

EVENT CANCELLED!!!

my sincerest apologies to those couple of people who actually stuck to the commitment to make the run - we'll do it again

Bummer. ( for the brake line, too )

But you just HAD to tinker with the car two days before the event, didn't you ?! Couldn't leave well enough alone, eh ? Noooooo, it had to be perfect ! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

My "second" will be arriving at your doorstep any moment now to slap you with my glove. Next meet, bring your weapon of choice. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

At least I'm glad to hear you're having T.J. ( Tobin James ) send all of us a bottle of their best vintage as an apologetic gesture. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
