well, after a long period of testing, and a few changes along the way, i have just about gotten to the point where i am ready to release the heat shield
this unit attaches to existing hardware in the engine bay, and resides above the header - it reduces the heat allowed to go up over the engine and into the rest of the bay - temps under the shield can be upwards of 300 degrees, but measured above the shield are nearly 200 degrees lower - this results in lower intake temps, which means more power - i have not and will not be doing any dyno testing, as the increases are likely to be very small - it has also resulted in lower oil temps which means increased engine life and oil life
the adhesive on the insulation material is only good up to 300 degrees, and is not holding as well as i would like, so i will likely be adding a riveted strip at the edges to hold it down - as soon as i have that worked out, i can release photos and all the pertinent details
pics and pricing to follow
