i am told that sheet metal shop should have the final version of the sheet metal done today - if it's in time, i can get them down here today and get onto wrapping this up

then only one day to assemble and pack, and they should be ready to go

i am hoping to ship on monday

lol - i kept taking pics each step of the way, but i kept making changes, dictating new pics - i worked this thing over a couple of times, adding another bend here, some length there, and changed the heat material twice - finally i said "enough"

so, since i don't have the final version here yet, i don't have pics taken - as soon as it's here, i'll do that, since i need them for the installation instructions anyway - should be before the weekend is out

as with pretty much everything else i've played with, pete said he is going to carry them

i'll let him determine the price point

so, look for an update in the next day or so

I await prices and pic like everyone else but as newcomer to this board I would appreciate a list/prices of what you have done in the past. Sounds like there are too many little goodies I'm missing . Maybe you could email me or post something?

lol - so i've been told

no, i actually chose not to post that shot because i made modifications to the last prototype to make some adjustments, and i didn't like what it looked like when in was done - not the "first foot" i wanted to put out there

another day or so, and it will be out there for real

that's what he told me in August but worth the wait no doubt, I understand after the installation we'll be able to keep beer chilled for days in the engine bay above the shield, while driving..

lol - sorry - i made a change on the drawing and the change created another problem that i did not see until i got it back here and tried to fit it - it took a while to get it into the sheet metal shop's schedule - i also had to figure out a way around the problem i had with the adhesive for the reflective material, which is good to 350 degrees, but also requires a certain amount of contact area, regardless of the fact that the material itself was good to 2000 or something silly like that - the devil is in the details

anyway, all worked out now

the reason for the delay is that Bob had to go to Florida to test the shield .. here's a teaser shot from the test site he sent me, so I'll share

My RS Barn visit of the month was done today, so the heat shield will have to wait for the next time. New brake pads today all around, and - WOW, what a difference. Now they have BITE. Thanks, Pete and Max.
