I think it looks pretty good.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]My lowergrill was all busted up from the last owner, and the bumper was floppin.
the stainless gave it alot of strength. the picture came out kinda weird i.ll try another I attached the upper with 4 small stainles screws into the spots that
the oem clips on. black would look great but i live in central oregon and they use
cinders on the roads and i can see myself taping and painting once a year.

The problem I have discovered with a metal grill (I installed Dave's and it looks great!) is that if you curb the front end the metal bends but does not 'spring' back like the plastic would. As a result the painted plastic cross pieces retain the bent form. Twice I have had to bend the parts back into shape.
Not a big problem and I still like the grill. Just one more reason to be really careful on parking spot cement bumpers and steep driveways.
I am interested in doster's tow hook answer. I had to use mine a few weeks ago. It comes in really handy.

Due to an unfortunate incident (see photo) at Homestead the weekend before last , I am also looking at installing a new lower grille. It seems some herding tires that were used to mark the track when transitioning from the infield to the straightaway were slightly misplaced or they jumped in front of my car for some reason . Anyway, I ordered the Griemann grille and also ordered the original plastic mesh from Sunset ($88.96 plus shipping). I also ordered new bumperettes ($17.42 each and bumperette covers at $3.93 each) to replace my cracked ones even though I am not planning to install them since I also ordered some Euro signal lenses (43.86 for left one, 42.75 for right one). I just want to have all the parts to return the car to original condition. I plan to remove the bumper cover and have it re-sprayed. There was no damage other than the paint being rubbed off. I would also like to add the polyurethane splitter but my inquiry to Carnewal has not been answered so far.

you can get it from
www.twpinc.com,.025 woven 10 mesh.and it was easy to do.
the hardest part was having to take the whole front end apart to get to it. i used
a 4" grinder with a cutoff wheel and used the oem as a template and attached it
with all the original screws. as far as the upper goes its just 4 phillips screws i didn't like it but couldn't figure any other good wayof doing it. i'm thinking of poedercoating it black but i've got other things to work on first.

does give the car a bit of an Aston look. I would definitely go for black matte paint, at least for the bottom. .. ?
good work Doster

doster...
I think many of us are very interested in making the top piece removable somehow similar to the 968engineering product. FYI, it is no longer available, which stinks as I had hoped to get them both to match...that's what I get for procrastinating Being able to access the tow eye is a must before I will put anything in that opening. I know as soon as I install it, I'll need a tow It looks great...keep us posted on any developments.

Darryl there are only 2 small fhillips head screws that hold it on and it comes out from the front.
all you have to do is get out your tool kit -and you have to get in it to get the hook out anyway
its not a problem

That's excellent...are you planning on producing them? I checked on the link to see what other varieties of mesh were available...any thoughts on size of mesh that are better or worse???

Darryl the mesh i use is a special order and is not listed. you could use a smaller gauge
and larger weive but this stuff is very rigid but flexible wen it takes a hit it doesn't bend like
aluminum or break like plastic, ask me how i know
