Mystery chip????
#1

Opened the DME today on my "new" '93 coupe and didn't find a chip that fits any photo or description I have seen in the forum. The DME cover was marked in grease pencil as "Rebuild in 2/03". The chip is a Texas instrument B 58 157 with a foil sticker applied with the number 1 267 357 459. The underside of the chip has Singapore 40 in white type. Took the best photo I could but foil makes it tough to photograph. I would like to put in a modified chip from speed 6 or Promax. My best guess is that this chip is an OEM replacement installed when the box was rebuilt. Thought one of you may have seen one of these before. Thanks for looking!!

Find the original print series and name your price because I suspect someone stands ready to spend a fortune for that poster <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Ira - just a word of caution - the chips in general are very static sensitive. If it's reomved it should reside in black esd foam. If you don't have an ESD strap, touch something that's grounded prior to handling the chip.

If your CEL comes on or another issue arrises the chip maybe toast. [doh..]
