RS BARNS CAT BACK GROUP BUY
#81

[quote name='Etnier' date='Mar 7 2006, 10:50 AM']My RS catback went in today: an hour's shoptime. They decided I'd probably be fine driving the car immediately after the installation: there are adhesives which are supposed to set, but the shop was confident the seal was more than adequate without the glue.

Louder: no 'burble' of any kind, just a throaty added note that is quite acceptable at idle and low speeds and sounds nice on the highway.

The car feels more responsive in the 3-4K area, and is a bit easier to shift in traffic: there is less 'sag' coming out of idle to engage the clutch.

I'm happy! Thanks Pete: I'm also interested in the header group pricing.

ON EDIT I know there are quite a few people who would appreciate buyer's feedback on this mod. Anyone else care to chime in with their impressions?

I received my cat back exhaust on Monday and I was going to wait until I receive the rest of the system to install them all at once. Well, i had a couple of hours today, so I decided to install the exhaust. One hour and 15 minutes later, the finish product looks great on the car. My first impressions says that there is definite improvement in all range, the sound is deeper than stock but not obtrusive or annoying... Overall, a very worthwhile mod and one I would highly recommend.. Great job Pete and I cant wait to get the rest of it..

Ok,

Ron inspired me to install my catback yesterday - took me around two hours to install - is really only seven bolts and two couplings that need to be tighten down. So its not really that hard at all - a little playing with the alignment, but defiantly looks better than the stock tailpipe (94").

I concur with John and Ron - deeper sound but not intrusive, the responsiveness is pretty subjective, but I can vouch for the weight savings as the stock unit is pretty heavy. All and all I'm very happy with it and will probably be looking into some more RS Barn mod's down the road. Now we have two RS Barn Catbacks in Sacramento, CA area for other locals to hear if they are interested...

Thanks again Pete

Hey Sam,

I should be getting the rest of the system on Monday(3/13) and doing the install on 3/14. I will let you know how they work or if you want to pass by, let me know.
