Interior Dome Light Questions
#1

Which direction should the switch be so that when the doors open, the light comes on?

Is there a delay mechanism built in?

if you are looking at the light from the driver seat, and the switch is on the right, it should be in the position to the rear

backwards wiring from mine - no worries - that just means that two of the wires are reverse from mine - both my dome and trunk lights are the same though

sasilverbullet - is it possible that your dome light is installed with the switch on the driver's side, and that's where the "wrong" side comes from?

I am running the permanent power wire for my Amp. and have the glove box out and the adjoining lamp disconnected. There are 3 wires to the lamp and I think that one of them somehow ties into the dome lamp, with all 3 wires taped (to prevent shorts) the dome lamp does NOT shut itself off after the alloted time. It used to operate properly. The rear hatch light does thou.

Check out the glove box lamp and see if it lights. There may be more here than it looks at first.

I was just in my car and checked the operation of the courtesy light - and it seems that Flash's is the one that's backwards. Sitting in the driver's seat, the switch is on the passenger side, and when in the position towards the front of the car, the delay is active. In the middle position the light is off. In the position towards the rear of the car, the light is on.

ok - wow - both of mine are backwards then (dome and trunk) that's how they've always been too - how odd is that?
