M030 SWAYBARS - PRICE AND INSTALL
#1

I just got a price from a local Porsche dealer for new M030 swaybars and bushings

as an upgrade for my 968, 6 pieces total: $385.06.

Is this a good price?

Is this a good DIY?

Do you need to align the car after the job?

Thanks to any 968'rs for responding!

good price if for both bars

fairly easy DIY, if you are all handy with a wrench - the car will need to be at least up on stands

no need for alignment afterward

You can get away with doing this with the car on ramps (do one end at a time, obviously). The suspension can be loaded for swaybar installs. Toughest part is sliding the bloody rubber bushings onto the bar. A little soap sure helps.

I do recommend the swaybar bracket triangulator bits from KLA (I think) for the front. Without it, my front had a tendency to "walk" and pop the circlip off the end.

both kla and tarret engineering make the bracket - great improvement

the walking you are talking about is a common problem, especially with delrin bushigns, which leads to uneven loading left to right - shaft collars solve that one permanently

Also worth looking at the solid rear swaybar mount from Racers Edge as well.

rubber flexes - any flex means a delay before the swaybar starts working
