looking for interest in Fixed head light mod...
#21

The drool is dripping all over my keyboard. I've always thought Arktech's fixed headlight conversion is gorgeous beyond words. If I had the allocated cash, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, too many other 968 and non-968 priorities stand in the way, budget-wise. So my vote is a thumbs WAY up, but alas, not for me in the immediate future...

I should have my fixed headlight modification completed by this time next week.

If anybody's going to be at Limerock Raceway next Friday and Saturday August 19-20th, I'll be there, you can see it.

I'll also be at Watkin's Glen the following Fri-Sun August 26-28th.

When I get it next week, I'll snap some shots and then ask for help uploading them to the site.

Unless you're coming out East...you know we DO have BBQ out here, too.

If it is possible to get those fenders at that price I would be very interested especially because one of my friends just knocked over the trunk lid that we had just taken off his H2 SUT onto my driver side front fender leaving a nice dent.

i am just about to let go of a left fender that is very easily repaired - i was hanging onto it to try to do a fixed headlight conversion, but i am giving up on that project

i will have a confirmed estimate from the body shop today

i can sell it either way (fixed or not)

mine is - i looked at everything i could think of, including 959 lights - nothing easy or anywhere reasonably priced came up- i was specifically focused on a full size light, and not a smaller tucked away light - i wanted the large headlight accluded lens look, keeping more in line with the original look, and not a clear cover with a light behind it - cost went through the roof, so i have decided not to pursue it further

I have been trolling and am resurrecting a thread I know, but I think the 993 front ended 968 looks pretty cool...as far as questions with Litronics, the Porsche Litronic headlights for the 993 are $2500ish, maybe more. One big plus with the OEM litronics is the ability to pull the entire light unit out and plug it in again.

I wonder if the 968 mod would allow for the same ability. I have aftermarket HIDs in my car, but the front of the car is the trunk, not the engine. I would think that it would be impossible to install the aftermarket HID kit in a 968 due to heat reasons and space to put the ballast/ignitor in.

Just a thought, although I know this thread is OOOOLD.
