is there such a thing as good - and cheap - brakes and pads?

still a fan of the R4-S and when i wear out the pads on the targa gts i'll probably switch to those.

Have new brake pad wear sensors ready. It's nearly impossible to remove them without breaking them.

Don't put the pad wear sensors on the existing rotors? What happens when you do??

Not to worry, I'm planning to use my grinding wheel to smooth off the old roters first.:->

that will not work.  that was what i was getting at.  you cannot surface the rotors and use R4-S pads, if you did not have R4-S pads on there before.  if you are using the R4-S pad for the first time, they must be used with NEW rotors only.  failure to do that will result in noise and chatter.  it is the only downside i have found with the R4-S.  i have sold about 100 sets (i did a big group buy a few years ago), and it has been a problem with 100% of the applications on used rotors.

Sorry, was trying to make a joke but didn't have access to emotcons, thus the old fashioned :-> have a set of rotors on order and trying to determine if I need to rebuild the calipers too.
