Well, since I finally got the clutch and related hydraulics completed (except for pressure testing and bleeding), I decided to plunge into the M030 Bar upgrade.



Jeff at Sunset Porsche had shipped me the complete kit, and it was truly complete! Love it when a plan comes together!



The front bar was really a piece of cake... just watch out when you are pulling it or putting the new one in postion, cause they are HEAVY! Good way to lose some teeth!



Getting the Rear Body Brackets around the new Bushing, and bolting them up takes some finagling... I finally got the best result by starting the top bolts into each bracket base, snugging them up, and using a ViseGrip as a clamp to pull the bottom of the bracket close enough to start the bottom bolt.

Then I backed off the top bolts and made sure the Bar was centered, and retorqued everything. I used adjustable heim joint Drop Links on the Rear Bar, so those took a bit of try and fit, but no real issue. Starting with the Drop Links set to the middle hole, and then I will go from there, depending on how the car feels.



Oh, boy! May be ready to install the Bilstein Escort Cup Coilovers any day! Or NOT!!! I'm still thinking about it...

a touch of lithium grease makes that job much easier - remember to torque everything with the weight on the wheels, and not with the wheels hanging

Yep, I recall you said to weight the car as it would be driven, in an earlier discussion on this subject... Got the better half to sit in the seat, so it's close to what it should be! :>))



I put all four wheels up on ramps to set up the Drop Links...s/b close to having the car level on the street. We will see!



BTW, Bob, I finally got that driver's side turn signal lens installed! Took me as long to get it in as it did for you to get it to me! (maybe longer, on my part!!!) Looks great, tho! Thanks again!

lol - i know the feeling - took me forever to finally get around to installing my own stainless clutch hose - i just couldn't convice myself to yank out the brand new OEM one



glad it's finally done though - lol - of course, now i get to find the OEM hose a new home

Yep, Jeff at Sunset will "Get 'Er Done" for you!



I think it was closer to $300.00 for me, but then I already had a set of adjustable heim joint drop links for the rear bar, and that would ad another $55.00 or so to the package...



A very nice upgrade for our Non M030 cars! And easy to do!



PS: Niner, IIRC, I torqued the bolts to 15 lbs. You don't need to go ballistic on them... and if they loosen up, it's not a death defying situation.... unless a bar falls off!!!

About the torque settings - I could not find any numbers in any of the documentation I have. Is there a number, or did you just tighten everything until it seemed tight ?

Darth, What ramps do you use? The old set I have won't fit under the car if I want to drive forward. I'd like to get a set of 4 ramps but need to find ones that will fit under the body in front of the rear wheels.
