Three Amigos Fun Run – April 27, 2008
#1

If you haven’t had enough Porsche’s after a fun filled day at the Hershey Swap Meet, why not follow us home and let us show you the beautiful Bucks County Countryside.

Pete, Bob and Jay would like to invite you to join us on Sunday, April 27, 2008 (No Rain Date) for a fun run around Bucks County.

Meet at the Dunkin Donuts in Yardley, PA (Same Parking lot as the Hampton Inn that we stayed at for 968 Celebration -Newtown)

1050 Stony Hill Rd

Yardley, PA 19067

(215) 860-3211

At around 9:15 AM (Fun Run Begins at 10:00 AM SHARP!)

The tour will be about 50-60 miles and will probably cover some of the terrain you have seen on previous runs (Covered bridges, New Hope, etc.).

Depending on turn out, we can grab a table for lunch or just get you on your way home.

Just so, everyone is clear. This is a non-PCA sponsored event. In fact, this event is not sponsored by anyone. That means, as clearly as I can say it. If your car is damaged, we are not responsible jointly or severally. I will not pay you a penny unless it is my own car, driven by me that crumples your car.

Waivers? We don’t need no stinkin’ waivers!

Sounds like a blast. Parst of Route 113 would be fun. I used to live in Chester county and can see the tree lined roads now - some truly great drives. Cut my teeth (and busted up a couple of my Dad's cars) on those back roads. Have fun folks.

Have we got anything like the Hershey meet in LA/Orange/San Diego counties?

Good Morning All,

I attended the Riesentoter PCA "Spring Fling Tour" yesterday morning and we had a blast. Wayne (Wellard) is a master at picking roads that will make best use of all the horsepower and torque available. For anyone in the region, do your self a favor and join up with this run the next time you have a chance.

I am becoming more and more accustomed to being the only 968 at these Porsche gatherings. Chesapeake was over 100 cars and I was the only 968. Yesterday there were 70ish cars and 4 968s (mine was still the only cab ). We are truly the stewards of these great cars and I can only imagine how over time these cars will be respected and admired for their rarity. I was very pleased when the owner of a 2008 Turbo Cab came over to chat about my car. I offered to switch for the 2nd half . I also ran into Jerry Campgna (VGM911) who will alway be a 968er, even if he has gone over to the Carrera side...

Response to this 3 amigos run has been kind of quiet. I posted late in the game and am frankly busy as hell with other stuff. That said, Flash will be in town and I still want to take a drive. At worst, if we put together a few cars we can just play follow the leader in the Bucks County countryside and go to Brunch. If anyone is planning on coming it would be helpful to let me know.

Regards,

Jay

Wellardmac's events are well worth the drive, as Jay said. The roads were challenging, the scenery was gorgeous, and the pace was "spirited" when traffic allowed. We all had loads of fun.

What Jay said about the sparse representation of 968s showing up for these events is especially true. Many of today's Porsche owner's are first time buyers and have no knowledge of, or experience with, the 968. If you want to stand out in the crowd, bring your 968 to one of these events.

You'll likely see Wellardmac's announcements of future events on the Riesentoter Region website, the Rennlist forum (usually the 996 section), and the Cayman Club forum. Hope to see you on one of these fun runs!
