#1

Hi i want to remove these black plastic covers to run wires, but theyre tight and attempts so far suggest imminent risk of breakage. Im pricing new ones from sunset since mine have some chips, but any advice on removal without damaging them for reinstall?

Thanks!

they are held on by some really stubborn clips.  the plastic is prone to breaking too.  i wish i had a solution, but i think i bought the last set there was, and that was about 5 years ago.

Ok well this forum comes through again thanks guys.

I will look for another way because I certainly don't want to break those sill plates.

I discovered something hit my door sill plate taking out a large chunk of it. It exposed the galvanized metal underneath. So I got some body filler. sanded it smooth and ordered the exact color paint from on online company called

Their phone number is 888-710-5192.

I masked off the bottom of the door and sprayed on the paint. It is an exact match to the original paint. I now have a life time can of paint as it comes in a 8 inch high can :whine:

Hi Larry, I may be mistaken but I think those stainless steel sill plates are the cosmetic ones only and not the ones that hold carpet in place. I'm talking about the black plastic "upside-down-U" shaped channel that your foot almost scrapes every time you get in and out of the car

Correct, the S/S plates are vanity plates for the sill, the black plastic is above...

I just bought a pair of brand new ones. Manufacturing date states October 2014 so maybe they started making them again?

OK Jaap, the burning question we all want to know?? Where did you find them to buy and cost?

I bought them at a local Porsche parts supplier here in the Netherlands for 52 euro each. Not sure if they would ship abroad but also found them at the offical German Porsche website, both in the parts diagram and interactive parts price list so I assume any Porsche dealer should be able to order them?
