Only been on this board 2 or so years now, so I missed the discussion on stage 2 and what it was, as it is no more.
Quick question on the injectors, what is the expected lifespan, and would I be able to use stock injectors if for some reason down the road I can not find similar spec injectors? Or do I need a new chip, and if I need a new chip, any plans to either sell those chips or gasp, opensource it
In fact, and off topic, Bob, not sure what you are planning to do with the designs and R&D (and design 1 racing as a whole), but if there was interest in you selling the rights, cad drawings, etc for the kits, so that we could opensource it, would you and for how much?
This is assuming a bunch of us supercharger owners kicked in and contributed.
I am a big fan of opensource, and recognize that you Bob did a lot of work, and deserve to make a profit, but if this is going to be abandoned would be cool if crowd sourcing continued to fund it via labor and not finacial contributions etc.
It is very easy to set up a github.com site with all the drawings and code, along with a foundation to protect it from being "stolen" but someone else and trying to sell parts as there own.
The long term intention is to make it easy for someone to modify and contribute back, or use this to make their own kits. Other than the original designer credit Bob of course and his company would not be liable for anything.
