Design 1 Racing now taking orders - VERY briefly
#1

Enough emails came in to justify a very limited run of stuff. Again, I will only be making what is ordered and paid for. I am limiting the ordering time frame to 1 week. This is so that I can try to get everything out the door before xmas. Ordering may commence now. I will close ordering at 5PM Pacific time on Friday Nov 15.

Those of you who emailed me, I will send you an email later today. Those of you who have not emailed me, you have until then to place your orders. After that, I doubt seriously that there will be another opportunity for a very long time. This run is very small. The way things stand, I don't think there will be enough build up for at least a year, and by that time, I am likely to be done altogether. Moving on, so to speak.

The Design 1 Racing website will tell you which items are available. Basically, if there is an "Add to Cart" button, it's available.

As always, Splitters are still made to order, and will be available for the foreseeable future.

Supercharger Kits are available, and made to order.

I am not making Chassis Braces at this time. Due to some shipping issues, I cannot ensure their safe arrival, so I would rather not even mess with it.

I am not making Front Grilles, Clutch Lines, AC Tensioners or Engine Covers.

I will not be doing local pickups.

All orders must be placed via the Design 1 Racing website.

Direct any inquiries to sales@design1racing.com.

Strange: no e-mail came through, not even in the spam folder...

Could you send it again? Make sure the e-mailaddress was correct: bulti@telenet.be.

Thx

Maybe if I walk to my front door now and I open it, UPS is standing on my doorstep?

What is one to do if they've already bought everything appropriate for a coupe? We'd love some new exciting products. (eg Stage 4 SC). <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

lol - the engine can't handle more boost without some pretty serious mods.

besides that, the kit would have to have an intercooler, smaller pulley (which would mean mounting redesign), bigger injectors, and a whole bunch more new tuning.

basically, i would have to start completely over. not gonna happen

what is one to do if you already bought everything for a coupe? - that's easy - buy a cab

Oh well. Never hurts to ask.

OTOH I have a beautiful condition '94 motor completely apart...waiting. Ready for whatever serious mods you want.

No flexi flyer cab for me.

lol - i love when people think cabs are flexi. then i take them for a ride in the blue car, and get to prove them wrong, and see their jaw drop

with all 3 braces in the car, it is almost as stiff as the stock hardtop (yes, i've checked it on a frame rack). i have pics of my car with 3 wheels in the air, and me still able to open and close the door. i continually put a rear wheel in the air trying to back out of the driveway. good thing i have lsd, or i'd be stuck.

anyway, back on topic:

i'll get everything going monday, and let everyone know what the various delivery times will be.

I can do one more off topic too. "People" didn't think cabs are flexi, Porsche did and wouldn't build em with M030. Can you put a cage in and stiffen em up? Sure, but that's another matter.

Having driven Flash's car I'd have to agree with him. Not sure whether others are as tight!

I have driven a few 968 cabs, and they all had cowl shake, which is the reason I only purchased coupes. After driving Flash's car, I will now purchase a cab. The cowl shake was non existent in his, and annoyingly apparent in the others.

On a related note if the Chassis braces become available for ordering in the future I'd be interested. Tried to buy a 968 cab from Copart that had one, but didn't win the auction.

stuff is starting to come in. i have all of the machine parts, and most of the hardware. the sheet metal should be done tomorrow and off to the powder coater on monday. that makes a possible ship date of jan 6.

Sweet. I'm pretty curious about the parts and the effects they will have on the handling.

BTW Flash: any success with the poking around for the stage 1 chip? I know it must have low priority right now, but with the shipping date coming closer...
