Preparing for oil Change
#1

I've done a quick seach and pretty much summerised the oid change issues and will do it cold as per Flash. I still have one question, I've read the 944 guys putting a quart of ATF and running the engine for a few minutes to 'clean' out any gunk. Is this still an option, and if I do the change cold, will this still be beneficial?

ATF is an old school way of cleaning out the gunk - i have no idea how the variocam or any other components would react to it though

i would use something like Run Rite instead, which is specifically intended for that

cool... thanks. I also assume the Synth oil has cleaning properties too negating the need for such 'cleaners'
