Brake caliper rebuild kits
#1

I am looking for the rebuild kits for the front and back calipers. (just in case) There is nothing wrong with the brakes now but I would rather rebuild them as long as I have them apart and not use the old seals and dust boots.

Anyone know of a retailer who sells the kits? Or will I have to go to Brembo directly and get the parts by the each as needed from them?

What is the diameter of our caliper's pistons? are the fronts and rears the same?

I know that aircraft paint stripper will not harm Cast Aluminum but what are our calipers made from? C A right?

I found decals for the "Porsche" logo once but have lost the link. Anyone? Anyone at all? Bueller?

Advise on Powder coat color for rebuilt calipers?

I am going to rebuild my calipers for 2 reasons,

1st. The paint or whatever comes stock (dark grey) is chipping and peeling off and looks like sheep.

2st. I am redoing the suspension and will have everything apart anyway so I am going to powder coat them myself. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/unsure.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> I'll post pics and let you'all know how it turns out. Bought an El Cheapo kit for $70 and an old oven for free.

Thanks.

Wish I could be more help to you on this, but felt I should mention that there is, somewhere out there, a firm which sells Porsche-logo stencils for calipers, as opposed to decals. The advantages should be obviousl. Maybe someone has a link?

A bit OT: What I need is a firm which does caliper rebuilds and recoats either with very fast turn around or on a core charge basis. Does such a thing exist?
