Hello all -- I am new to the list (1st post). I bought my '95 968 Coupe w/ M030 in March and have been lurking on this list since. Since buying the car I have added a KLA strut brace, Mintex C-Tech racing pads, did a wheel alignment for the track, and last night (9:30PM-3AM) I installed Racer's Edge rear and front sway bar delrin bushing kits. My question is...after reinstalling the front sway bar, how much do I tighten the nuts on the front sway bar drop links? Any help / guidance would be appreciated. I am leaving this afternoon for Roebling Road Raceway in Savannah for a weekend DE and would like to know that the front bar is properly installed.

i wish i knew you were going to do that - i have a mod that i am working on a DIY for to fix the design problem in the racer's edge bushings - too late now, but i'll get to it when i get back from cancun so you can fix the problem you are about to have



the problem is that with teh delrin, the sway bar walk from left to right - this changes the preload from side to side, making for some interesting handling issues



drive it this weekend, but don't freak out when you take a turn and it feels different than the last time you took it



the fix is easy, but you need to order something from MSC that will take a week to get to you



as for tightening the end links - i snug them down until they hit about 35# - just make sure you aren't pulling the sway bar down as you tighten it (that would create preload), and tighten them with the car resting on its weight

Thanks flash for the reply....The walking sway bar sounds a little scary. Is the friction enough that the rubber bushings don't have this problem?

exactly - i have the fix though, and it's been working very well - no noises in the bushings, and they stay put - silent and solid for over a year now



i'll be in there for a different mod when i get back from cancun on the 8th, and can take shots and post a DIY on the swaybar fix

The M030 front bars have circlips that go on the ends which prevents some lateral movement. You could always put metal collars on the bar itself like the Tarrett bar has.
