Front wheel bearing adjustment...

Here's what I was just told by a Porsche mechanic...



Tighten the nut until it seats, then back off a tiny bit. Then use a screwdriver to move the washer behind the nut. It should move with some drag.



This is best done with the hub assembly COLD. Adjusting this way WILL cause some "play" in the wheel. This is supposed to go away when the hub and bearing heat up.



Can anyone verify this as correct? This shop is a Porsche only shop in business since 61'.



Any thoughts????
