I need a couple more bits and I'm done fiddling. Will take my paid-in cost to about $35K. I challenge anyone to find a sports car or GT that drives as well for $35K. I could be tempted with a Cayman S, but I drove a 2008 with 33K miles on it last year and did not like it as much. And that was a $45K car.

So, $45K and a date with Scarlett Johannson.

" and a date with Scarlett Johannson " we have a Forum's man code rule here : never date another member's ex , besides, you really would not want my " sloppy seconds " , right ?! :-)

Wait a minute, who made these rules? I dont see them posted or have I just missed them? Depending on the number of women we as members have, oh how shall I say this, experienced, been with, played, used or enjoyed wouldn't that potentially put a lot of talent off the menu? And isn't just about any woman to a degree someone's sloppy second? Of course being a politically correct kind of fellow, this is all a hypothetical surmise with no offense intended to any female forum members! So in the hunt of life, all is fair game unless it is currently being feasted on. Should we vote? Lol !

Ahhh perfect. Mission accomplished. Non feasted is fair game. Now the forum needs to utilize it's technology and start and start id ing potential talent through facial recognition software. A slight fee could be charged to support Forum activities!

ok, just as long as you don't sign your doctrines under Moammar or Nicolae or Benito pseudonyms, things don't end too well with the leaders of those regimes .. :-)

Ha, that was precisely the response I expected after my post, lol. Ok, I'm sure Scarlett has better things to do than go on eBay for our bidding contest, so back to our cars - anyone else who has no anticipated need to ever sell this car think about what price will change your mind, and the rationale ?

Scarlett?

Frankly, I don't give a damn! (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Offer me a Series 1 E-Type in trade and I'll wave goodbye to the 968. (and start saving for another).

No need to sell my car, and I still love it. I've done a lot to it, but I don't assume that adds anything to the value of it - there are modifications to make it feel more like it's "mine", like the double-DIN stereo-nav, slim profile subwoofer, etc., and the new top, belts and water pump are all just maintenance items. Maybe the chassis brace adds a few bucks, maybe not. It's still only worth what it's worth - say $16,000 to the right buyer.

If it had pop-up headlights like Scarlett's, it would be worth more, but it would also be a lot more expensive to maintain. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

For every beautiful woman there exists a man who is just tired of her bullcrap. Tama which is more expensive, the maintainance of a beautiful woman or kids? I am beginning to think the later!! Lol

Too many pearls of wisdom to drop in one post on that topic, my friend.

"Whether you get married or not, you'll regret it."

"No matter how good looking she is, somewhere there's a man sick of putting up with her $#!^."

"Life begins when the kids move out and the dog dies."

My own vote, in order of affordability goes like this:

1. Single,

2. Single with multiple girlfriends,

3. Single with one girlfriend, (more expensive than multiples)

4. Married,

5. Married with kids,

5. Married, kids or not, with one girlfriend,

6. Married, kids or not, but wife finds out about girlfriend(s),

7. Divorced,

8. Divorced, with multiple girlfriends,...

...lather, rinse, repeat.

How about grand kids? While it's tough to say no to a beautiful girlfriend eventually the thrill wears off and they just become an expensive pain that you try to figure out how not to have to listen to. Grand kids on the other hand don't lose their thrill and you enjoy saying yes to.
