Well I went and bought the parts to replace my door handle seals on my 968.
I believe the correct way is to remove the interior trim and work that program to removing the handle. I reviewed a video on the internet that showed a person that removed the anchor screw ( inside the door jam above the latch mechanism to remove the handle from the outside door panel. The next step was to push the seal above the mechanism and then he video showed removing the handle and then slipping the gasket on to the handle. (Forcing the end over the locking mechanism and then pulling the remainder of the seal to the rear of the handle.)
I was a bit apprehensive, but thought I could at least unlock the handle and give it a try. If I could not do it I would remove the interior door panel. Well to my surprise I was able to get the seal on just enough over the locking mechanism and then pull it to the back side of the handle. The seal for the front of the handle is very easy. I replaced both the left and right handles in less than two hours .
Couple of tips. I cleaned all of the dirt and grime from the decayed old seals and then I masked all areas where the handle might touch the paint of the car. I put a coat of polish on all the areas as well.
Second i don't know if I can post the video Google : 968 door handle seals replacement
It is a R.L. post titled: Door handle gasket - replacement made easy. With video May 17, 2019
Here are the Porsche part Numbers:
944-357-622-00 Front Right
944-357-632-00 Front Rear (The hard gasket to slip over)
944-5337-621-00 Left Front
944-537-631-00 Left Rear
The cost of parts at the dealer was approximately 60 dollars plus tax.
I am really pleased with the result. The door handles look great again!.
