T-Belt Update Parts List Anywhere?
#1

With all the Tbelts that have to be changed out, you'd think there would be a "kit list" of the basics...with part numbers even better. Plus, a list of other parts you usually replace or might wish to replace "while you're in there." On the latter for example, the water pump, gasket, thermostat changeout with parts needed, etc. bolts that probably should be replace, balance shaft seal, stuff like that. I'm getting ready to dive into my first major job of taking the front off the engine and sealing it up and hoping it'll last another 30k miles before I have to do anything other than check belt tension once every so often. I've done searches and come up with vague lists but nothing very complete. I must be going right by the best links/posts for something like this. It's so basic, it should be somewhere.

I've called a couple of dealers...one over a week ago who said he'd get back to me...but haven't heard yet. And another who said, "We can figure this out over the phone." I like to go over the lists, compare it to the PET and make sure that I replace all that I want to while I've got it torn down. Having it apart and finding that you forgot to order a seal or gasket just slows things down when you're on a roll.

Even a 944 list would be helpful to this 968 owner.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Harvey

list attached...you will need to decide on the service intervals of the items included. I am also certain that there will be comments posted concerning errors in this post...please double check the numbers with your dealer or parts person.

Most parts are offered in kit form - belt and roller kit, seal kit, etc. Sometimes you order by name - Tensioner. No bolts are required unless you snap one off (right Joe L.?)

Anyway, here is a list that was developed a while ago, and the illustrations from the PET that go with them so you can browse for yourself.
