Covid keeping you down
#41

One of the dumbest things I’ve seen, was a video of someone ( a doctor no less… but not a virologist or anyway near in that general domain  ..) claiming that cloth / fabric masks are useless because as demonstrated in the video she was able to extinguish a candle flame from just about a foot away by forcefully blowing air through the cloth mask, whereas she could not do that with an N95 mask on.  So her conclusion was a cloth mask cannot protect you from virus particles.   Yes, if someone gets within one foot distance of you, deliberately blows as hard as they can right into your mask and you happen to be breathing in at the time.    :glare:

well our Prime Minister today announced that the large majority of Omicron Patients in hospital are now the anti vax idiots, they should at least contribute for the total stupidity,

the main pressure on the hospitals is now lack of staff due to isolation,

with 218,000 new infections in the last 24 hours, and still the hospitals not filling up and very few now dying, I think the Vaccine has been a total triumph

Many of our hospitals here are getting “pinched for space” , but doctors are reporting that quite a lot of people with extremely mild symptoms, not even comparable to those of a common cold or a light headache, are showing up DEMANDING they be admitted and treated, some even requesting ICU care .   Given the insanely litigious environment here in the good ole’ USA , hospitals are hesitant to turn anyone away ( and legally they can’t if someone shows up in the ER, they must be seen ) so many people who should be given a kick in the ass and sent home with two aspirins are taking up space from those who may actually need it !

I wonder how many of these people are demanding Ivermectin...

yes I read some older reports on this but not recent peer reviews. If shown to have positive effect it should become part of the overall arsenal against Cvd19, there's no reason why vaccines should be the sole solution.

Ivermectin does not work. Any benefits from it are anecdotal and coincidental at best.

I have worn my mask around others since the numbers in my area went through the roof. I wear a cloth mask with a filter inside it and wash it and change the filters regularly.

Even when I took my mask mandate down for my store, I wore my mask, and my smarter clients continued to wear theirs. This has been 2 years now. You know the people I know who wear their mask religiously all report they haven't had a cold or the flu for 2 years...Wow, who knew there would be benefits other than preventing you from catching a possibly fatal disease? (masks also make some people, such as myself easier to look at) lol

The lines for testing at our hospital are blocks long, and worse in Orange Co. (think Orlando) - The hospitals and Dr.s, are recommending that if you don't have symptoms, don't come to the testing sites. Now our moron, oops I meant to say governor, is saying the same thing. His pocketbook surgeon general who got a big paycheck and high paying collage job for agreeing to be surgeon general and parrot the gov, will be chiming in soon.

I am doing what I need to, to keep my family safe. If people don't like it, no one is forcing them to hang around us or come to my store. Bottom line.

Bozo Joe can order all the covid pills he wants, but until you change people's behavior, you won't stop this from continuing to mutate and the next one might just be even worse. Nothing mutates into lollipops and sunshine. (by the way, I have a photo of Bozo Joe if anyone wants it)....

We’re required to test twice every week at the office (  in addition to a full vaccination / booster mandate ),  but here’s the “ certificate “  which is in the test kits …

The test kits, certainly have made Chinas economic recovery a bit faster

Just had my tests completed a year after having COVID, Xmas present from my daughter.

I now have serious issues absorbing oxygen my saturation levels are about 92 without any exercise, any serious effort and it drops into the high 80s and Im on the floor gasping for air,

But at least Im still here and can play with the grandkids, even if chasing them is out the question

Unfortunately just got cover for the second time, last time was December 2020.

This due to the misses who brought it home from work, just before I have to leave the country for work  :whine:

So, stuck for a few extra days.

The good thing is that for the second time I have the light version of covid, so not too much health related issues.
