Clutch pedal went down and stayed there

One theory is that a new hose = more pressure to the old cylinders.

In response to Mbardeen's question about the clutch pedal, that sounds like it could be a separated firewall. Mine was acting just like that before I put a support bracket on the master cylinder. My firewall had completely separated, causing the master cylinder to move and affecting the geometry of the pedal pivoting, which gave it this two-stage over-center feel.

+1. I had my hose go, then the slave went afterward. There is no way to tell, but age catches up with you. I doubt the book says 4 hrs to replace the hose. Replacing slave is easy though, very accessible. Bleeding can be a chore.

The clutch hose on these cars seems like it is a very common issue. Curious if other cars of this age have similar issues??
