After having the AP 2500 lb. clutch kit sourced through Pete installed last month, I can report that pedal effort is greatly reduced over the Sachs 3100 lb. unit that was in the car when I bought it. Flash would probably hate the feel, as engagement is a bit soft, even for my taste, but operation is nice and smooth with all new components everywhere in there. Perhaps I need to bleed the hydraulics or just drive it more and wear it in to get the clamping to feel a bit more positive? (car is down with a bad hall sender right now)

Just a couple of weeks ago when I looked at the latest Sachs catalog, it showed pressure plate 3082 213 133 as part of Porsche Repair Kit Part # 968-116-911-00

Based on another thread, it appears the green plate is considered good up to 280hp. As I'll have the supercharger shortly, and the superdupercharger shortly thereafter, I think I'll install this blue plate with the slightly higher clamping force and report back what the pedal feels like.

no luck - the warehouse won't pull the part without me buying it.

the part number is good, so chances are it's the right one

the green plate works fine on the SC. i think every car out there except mine is running it. there is no reason to screw up your pedal feel with the blue one. the feel of the blue one really sucks. if you are concerned about the rating, get the one with no mark. it will be stiff, but it will be progressive feeling.

It's the one I'm planning to use (the blue strip -133 that is). I just removed the no stripe -132 part which was waay too stiff. My PGT feels like butter compared to the -132 part, and the PGT clutch will hold up to 350 hp at the wheels. If I really don't like the feel, the 968 clutch is soo easy to replace I'll switch to something else then. I like the feel of Eric K's clutch which is not a Sachs unit. And, I know from the class he runs he has ~300 at the wheels. So, his choice is another candidate if I don't like the feel of the -133. And, I can have both for no more than I'd spend for the -131.

I'll be a while before I'm at Sunset again, but I'll talk to the Parts Manager to see if he can help us with the warehouse.

The clutch is installed, and I don't notice any difference in pedal feel between the original 964.xx part number and the blue stripe Sachs unit, except for a slight increase in effort to hold it in all the way, but not by much.

Maybe after a lot of driving I'll notice a difference, but for the first five miles, it seems smooth and easy to operate, and I don't notice any ramping. The last time I drove a 911, the clutch felt like it belonged in a school bus, and there was a definite "get over the hump" feeling to it where it was hard to press then got much easier halfway through the stroke.

This one has a nice smooth feeling all the way to the floor.

neither one.

the correct pressure plate for our car has a green stripe on it. the bargain vendors sell the wrong spring rate pressure plate, which besides making the pedal too stiff, can cause firewall damage.

I just replaced a new pressure clutch pressure plate to the 968, using parts purchased from Sunset in Oregon many years ago.

It is 964.116.027.01 Made in Slovakia ,and 06 3082 213 101 is also printed at the outermost area.

Also, here is the picture of the pressure plate which was pulled out.  It is a 96411602701 pressure plate, Made in Germany. It was installed some 10 years ago.

And this is the pressure plate I got from Ebay.  It has blue stripe!

On the box, it has 968.116.911.00 /38

On the pressure plate, it does not have country of origin information.  It has     Made by Sachs.

Also,     1T 25.8   3082 213 133    TYP GMFZ 240;   3032 125 199;  on fingers  147 610 SSL 1 08.

wrong plate.  happens all the time.  yes, it bolts up.  no, it's not the right one.  it will be stiffer at the pedal, and not have the smooth operation of the correct plate, which is a green stripe

A while ago I made an effort to figure out what's what with these plates.

The thread you are looking for is "Sick of my blue-striped pressure plate."  Do a search and go to post #20.

Basically the code nr 3032 125 199 is found on both blue and green pressure plates.  The "3082
"-code is what's important.  When ordering a plate, make sure the vendor checks that the plate has 3082 213 101
on it.  This code is specific to our pressure plate.  All others are incorrect.

In post #20: note the blue stripe on the plate in the top picture.  The middle and bottom pics are from the correct (green) plate.

OK, here we go again... I contacted Sunset, they gave me the part number 968 116 911 00, This is for the complete clutch kit. I found the same kit at a local supplier (EBS Racing) here in Reno. I went down there today and Jim was kind enough to pull the kit for me so I could check out the pressure plate.

It has a BLUE stripe!

The casting shows TYP GMFZ 240 Sachs 3032 125 199

It is STAMPED T38 10 3082 213 133

So, I am guessing, in spite of the same part number, the BLUE stripe and the 3082 213 133 indicate that it is the WRONG plate.

Any suggestions or advice?

don't buy a kit.  that is what i have seen to be one of the problems.  buy the parts individually.  as far as i can tell, that is the only way to get the right pressure plate.

be prepared to have to wait for it to come from germany

It is definitely the wrong one. Where to get the right one is the question...
