Hahaha, those Duthies he..!?
P.s. When inspecting the camshaft assy ans say I have to remove the variocam plates...where's the best place to buy them? At the moment I do all my purchases at Rose Passion.com in France, but they only sell the entire variocam assy as an exchange part.
I will study the other forum subjects on variocam inspections, before starting on it.
Unfortunately, I've already mounted the belts, but still have them accessable for dismount (just undo the cambelt tensioner and the cambelt will come of the camshaft gear). But this will only be necessary in case I have to remove the camshafts, isn't it?
The bottom variocam guideplate can be seen for inspection without removing the shafts?
'Utrecht' mentioned 20 minutes for the inspection..do you base the state of the bottom plate to the state of the top plate? Or is that not very wise to do?

Need advice on timing belt.
My recently purchased 968 has a belt that is 4.5 years old, and has 24kmi on it. Should I change it immediately? While the milage is somewhat low, the age is getting close to the 5 year mark. They did the rollers, the water pump, and all the other bits when they did the belt last time.

MCL968,
+1 on belt change at 4.5 years and 24k miles. It's already 18 months past due. Yes - change is asap, preferably before driving any more.

Thanks, so much for my final cruise before the snows come flying in. But, better safe than sorry, and valves meeting pistons is never pretty.
Both belts, rollers, and everything else, or just the cam belt?

You the man Flash!
I am sorry I got to the party so late, it would have been fun working on this a few years ago and making a Paso run or two.
I will miss your sage advice when you move on to the next vehicle, but the owners of that vehicle will undoubtedly benefit in much the same way the 968 group has benefitted.
