Snapped off screw extractor - FUBAR
#21

We used to use reverse-rotating drill bits years ago for extractions such as this. Anyone know if they still make reverse bits?

They probably do, but that requires a reversable drill too I'm told.

I do not own welding equipment nor do I know anything about it. I've spend a few hours already trying to get the damn thing out ( geating it up with a soldering iron), but it won't budge. Now the piece that stuck out on top broke off too, so drilling it out is my only option.

My not at all cheap peace of screw extractor already ruined one center punch, so I will get a kryptonite one (anyone knows where Superman's hardware store is located?).

In any case, if I won't be able to start my drilling exactly in the center, I will take the car to a professional who has better equipment and experience.

I like my cylinder head more than my ego ;-)
