What do you love most about your 968?

we are not trying to categorize the car - we are only trying to identify what a person found was the one thing about it more than the others that swung them over
Fine ! If I must... it was the Aesthetics. There are only three cars whose looks I like better than the 968 : DB9 , Dino and Z8

I can't afford a DB 9 ( well, I can but that kind of expenditure will lead to divorce...and I can't afford that )

The Dino is pathetically underpowered and handles like crap, so as much as I'd probably spend each day of my life admiring it, driving would not be nearly as much fun as the 968 Z8 - one word : CAB and I'd have to remove the BMW crests/logos ( can't stand the stigma of driving a beemer - sorry Ayn )
Horsepower isnt everything, and while it may be very addictive...its only a fraction of the fun factor for me. I've owned many many cars in my short life. From E30 M3's to VW Corrado's to an Acura TL. The Most fun car i've ever had the pleasure to pilot has been a bone stock 1974 BMW 2002 (my ex's restoration project). 4-Speed 100BHP car.

Back on topic. I like many things about the 968. The handling, the styling. I'm not very fond of the power curve in stock form....i prefer engines that make all their power high up in the rpm range and rev high. Think...E30/E46 M3's, Honda S2000's, Acura Integra Type-R's, etc etc.

When i was a boy (11years old), i remember first seeing the 968 at the Javits Center in NYC (Auto Show). I instantly fell in love with the styling and said to my father i'm gonna buy that car one day. Since then, i've always wanted to. I had many cars before it and nearly bought a '92 NSX project car when i was shopping around for my next toy. I decided to go with the 968, because if i hadn't, i would still yearn to own one (maybe i'll get an NSX next time around).

My first car was a 1987 944 (purchased back in 1998). I loved driving that car. The handling, high speed stability, styling & gearbox were the best aspects of that car. i remember my first track days with it. I installed a few modifications on the car (BBS RS wheels, HEader/Exhaust/Intake/Chip) It was quiped with MO30/LSD & Sport Seats from the factory. I always wished it were a 968....It just took that same concept and made everything i already loved better.

Ya know its funny............Before I got my Cab I would spend all too much time scanning ebay and whatever sites looking at Porsche's. I was looking to get an early year and bid on at least 8 or 10. 1969 to 1973 I thought. Knew what I could afford and came close to winning one or two. After I got to drive my 968 without even realizing it until sometime later I just stopped looking. Not cause I landed a car so why bother............I just lost interest in any of the others. Including my 356SC. I even stopped bugging the restorer about its progress. I think I'm sold...
