Brian,
That sounds like a good Idea! I have a couple of leaks in my old top in heavey rain but they are in the back top corners where the two gaskets come together. Replacing these gaskets is a mega buck parts expense so any other fix is a good idea. I will be making adjustment to the top & window mechanisms this winter to snug things up. But when the rubber shrinks with age there is not to much room for adjustment. Let me know if that works for you.

I had the same problem on both the driver's side AND the passenger side during heavy rain. It was actually pretty severe. It was right after I purchased the car and figured I was in for a long trail and error troubleshooting procedure with my garden hose. I talked to my Porsche mechanic/friend who said he had seen one that leaked like this that his shop was never able to fix properly. Strangely enough, my symptoms have NEVER returned. It only happened that one time. I'm guessing it was due to how the top fit or whether or not the windows had gone up/down after the top had been closed. I avoid rain whenever possible as this is not my only mode of transportation. I have been in rain since then and all is OK. I don't notice any additional wind noise or air leaks so you may simply want to check the top fitment as it is raised and lowered.
Keep us cab owners posted on what the final fix may be!

Good find ther Brian. That adjustment would never be found by trial and error.
