Has anyone replaced the anttenna coax cable, how much interior trim must be removed, or do you know the routing direction etc. I hate trim work so removing as little as possible is my goal.....thanks.

Amen! With that gruesome glue these slather all over everthing, taking trim loose is a messy undertaking.



I also have a new antenna ready to go in and looking forward (?) to finding out how much stuff to disrupt ...

Antenna replacement is not too tough. I've attached the page from the manual that lays it all out.



One note. You need a very deep well open socket to remove the nut holding the antenna in place (while respecting the coax antenna cable). Use the lug nut socket from your onboard tool kit. It is perfect for the job.



If you're considering replacing the coax from the radio to the antenna connection, you're on your own with my sympathy.

Yes, the antenna comes off easy, its the coax that's a hassle. I just rerouted the new wire, as to pull the original out was going to require a lot of hassle. It must have a number of tie downs and other obstructions, I could not pull it at all. The way I have it now it is completely hidden.

I routed it under the headliner (under the trim panel you first need to remove to access the antenna) where the original wire runs then snaked it down the the pass side where the interior trim panel is, (behind the part that has the rear seat locking device and seat belt retainer).....then lifted the carpet molding at the passenger entrance, tucked it in there then up under the dash along the evap case, tucked it behind the carpet etc.

The original would not budge, it must have a bunch of ties on it and I have a feeling it is run along the headliner on the passenger side, I did not want to search and have to remove the headliner.

The radio works great, the antenna amp must have been bad.
