OK, this this where I got confused. I did remove the snorkel and left the "Shroud" (front engine cover...right?) in place......Am I still confused?

Incidentally, prior to the SC, when I had the air box mod, performance CHIP , and catback system , I used the " Speed 6 , racer-X " chip and had absolutely no problems with smog checks . In fact all the readings were indistinguishable from the pre-chipped era.
