Air Flow Meter Rebuild
#1

Talked with a gentleman today in Boulder, CO who rebuilds Bosch AFMs. Saw his name mentioned on the Rennlist 928 board, with some solid testimonials.

I think this has been discussed here before and people say the things are cheap enough that you can just buy a new one. If that's correct, could someone please say what new ones cost and where exactly you can buy one at that price? (the part that never seems to surface in those responses).

At any rate, he would like an entree to the 968 enthusiast community (that's us!), so if there's some interest we could start the traditional group-buy discussions.

These things do wear and go out of calibration, and the effect is noticeable after replacement. We changed the one on my wife's Lexus and gas mileage increased by 2 MPG and throttle response was remarkably improved. It's one of those things whose significance you never realize until you fix or replace it.

I spoke with Phil of Sunset Imports...after about 3 minutes of silence, he said "Porsche has discontinued them. Try Performance Products." Good luck. BTW, I've heard the prices usually run between $150 and $250.
