Window question
#1

This is my first post on this forum, so hello!!

I have been living with this question for about a year and was never able to confirm it anywhere. On my old 86 951 the windows would still close if I turned the car off you could operate them until a door was opened. My 968 however does not do this. As soon as the key is off the power to the windows is cut. Is this the way it should be? or is there an issue? Thanks in advance!!!

Mine go up and down until I open the door even after the ignition is turned off.

Mine require the ignition to be on - but it's possible that's because of the Window Express units.

What do the window express units do? Is it a one touch window switch?

yes - it is a unit that installs in the door that adds the one touch feature

...and it provides "one touch" for opening and closing the windows. To do both sides (driver and passenger) requires two units, one in each door. Pretty much a plug-in installation, the only real challenge (once you've gotten past the "remove the door interior panels") is running a ground wire from the door to a location inside the car.
