What NEW products would you like to see for your 968?

"4 - i have this worked out already - i have had the prototype in my car for the last 4 years now - either Higher Connections or RS Barn will soon be carrying this kit"

yup - worked out very nicely - transferred a good amount of weight to the rear, where i had removed a lot of weight already, thereby regaining some of the balance

by getting rid of the crappy OEM connectors, i picked up a full half volt at the battery too

it's a very complete kit - full saddle for the battery, all mounting hardware, 4200 strand 1/0 gauge cable, new terminals, yada yada

i did this in my car because that's what i wanted, but we've been talking about doing it as a kit for about a year - we just haven't gotten off the dime and done it - i suppose i need to put the parts list together and work out pricing, and then figure out which of those two guys wants to carry it - they have both talked about it

the problem is how many we need to make in a batch, and how long they would sit on a shelf - if enough people want it, it will be done

Firefish-

I thought the 968 oil pans are baffled, to fix the oil starvation problems of the 944s. I may be wrong about that, though. Also, RS Barn sells a windage tray with an integrated crank scraper, which may be something you'd be interested in. It's something I will add when it comes time to pull my pan to replace the bearings (or the connecting rods plus the the bearings).

Didn't know that, I've always heard about the potential oil starvation issues on the 968 when running r-tires.

About windage trays. I've fitted one in the past on a Chubby 350 and it was a real pain to get tight (to get it to work properly) but no doubt the RS Barn piece is way better. But on the V8 running a tray was more for performance gain, cutting (no pun intended) windage losses rather than securing oil supply.

I would be happy with a 4-speed Tiptronic if I could find some software to make it shift with decent logic, and to stop learning my driving habits when I don't want it to.

As Flash and I talked about a few months back:

An OEM style upper strut bearing that doesn't cost $450 apiece - hey Porsche, what the hell is up with that?!

Make it so, number one!

gryphon - i may soon try to figure out how to lock in a program in the tip - i'll let you know

upper bearing - it's a ways off still, but probably not too far - i have a hard time forking over a grand for something i know i can make for less than that, even as a one-off

I'd like to see the factory have a bunch more C2 Turbo wheels made. Maybe even in 18's. I also like the idea of a turbo upgrade.
